Broken Arrow has expanded its modern warfare sandbox once again, with the new Russian Guard DLC now available on PC.
The latest expansion adds an entirely new Russian Guard specialization to the Russian faction, bringing with it eight infantry squads, 31 new ground and air units, two maps, new scenarios, and another AI-controlled army for Skirmish mode.
The new force is built around a mixture of infantry, armor, artillery, air defense, and specialist units, giving players another sizeable collection of toys to work into Broken Arrow’s army-building system.
Among the new formations are Rosgvardiya, BARS units, Reservists, Spetsnaz Alpha, FSB Snipers, Border Guards, and Spetsnaz Vympel. Across the eight infantry squads, players can choose between 20 different weapon loadouts, while the wider Russian Guard arsenal includes reconnaissance vehicles, armored transports, heavy artillery, and modern air-defense systems.
Broken Arrow’s Russian Guard DLC adds two new maps
Two additional battlefields arrive alongside the specialization.
Daugavpils focuses on dense urban warfare across a strategically important border city, with streets and buildings creating plenty of opportunities for close-range engagements and ambushes.
Coal Mountain is a very different proposition, placing the action around an elevated industrial stronghold where controlling high ground and setting up effective artillery positions can have a major impact on the battle below.
The DLC also includes two Russian Guard scenarios, a new Russian Guard AI army for Skirmish battles, and a fresh hangar theme.
In total, the Russian Guard DLC includes:
- A new Russian Guard specialization for the Russian faction
- Eight infantry squads
- 20 unique infantry weapon loadouts
- 31 new ground and air units
- Two maps: Daugavpils and Coal Mountain
- Two Russian Guard scenarios
- A new AI army for Skirmish mode
- A new hangar theme
Russian Guard follows Broken Arrow’s previous Baltic Battalion expansion and further expands the number of possible army compositions available to players.
Developed by Steel Balalaika and published by Slitherine, Broken Arrow combines large-scale real-time tactical battles with an army-building system that lets players customize their forces from a roster approaching 400 military units.
Alongside its single-player campaign, the game features 5v5 PvP multiplayer battles set around the Baltic region.
The Russian Guard DLC is available now. To mark its launch, Broken Arrow itself is also receiving a 25% discount on Steam, which is the largest discount the base game has received so far.
