Boruto: 9 Former Gods Of The World, Officially Ranked

The Naruto and Boruto universe have seen the introduction of many powerful Gods over the years. While some have enough strength to destroy a country, others hold enough power to destroy entire planets. Gods come from different parts of the Naruto world, but if there's one thing that's synonymous with them all, it is the fact that they all hold tremendous powers.

While there are still some Gods that are active in the world of Naruto, some others have already passed in one way or another, or have lost access to their God abilities. Among them, only a few stand out on top as the mightiest.

9 Hiruzen Sarutobi

Hiruzen Sarutobi was the Third Hokage of Konoha and known as the God of Shinobi. It is said that, out of the first Five Hokage, Hiruzen was the strongest of them all, although the showings of the First Hokage prove otherwise.

Hiruzen Sarutobi was still incredibly immense nonetheless and a master of all five nature transformations. Alongside that, Hiruzen also had access to every single ability that existed in Konoha that was not a Kekkei Genkai. His support of the Monkey King Enma made him even stronger, and overall, he was a monstrous calamity for anyone to deal with in battle.

8 Hashirama Senju

The First Hokage, Hashirama Senju, was also a force to be reckoned with. He was renowned all over the world as the God of Shinobi, and much of that was down to his immense strength. Hashirama had access to the Wood Release Kekkei Genkai and was a reincarnation of Asura Otsutsuki, which made him immensely powerful.

Hashirama's strength was such that he could reshape an entire country on his own, and his overall powers were slightly greater than those of Madara. With the power of Wood Release, Hashirama could counter just about any threat standing in his path. What's more, this Kekkei Genkai also allowed him to pacify and collect Tailed Beasts as if they were toys. Hashirama's strength was not surpassed until the Fourth Great Ninja War, and for that reason, he remains one of the most impressive gods in the story.

7 Kinshiki Otsutsuki

Among the Otsutsuki Gods, Kinshiki is quite easily one of the weakest that we have seen. Kinshiki was introduced to us in the Boruto series and was known to have the ability to create weapons using his red chakra.

At the same time, Kinshiki had a powerful Byakugan with which he could use space-time ninjutsu as well, which is unique. In terms of physical strength, Kinshiki is stated to hold the power to split worlds apart, though exactly what that entails remains unclear. That said, we do know that he was more than a match for Sasuke Uchiha in battle, and that certainly makes him very powerful.

6 Momoshiki Otsutsuki

Momoshiki Otsutsuki was the partner of Kinshiki and certainly one of the fiercest Gods that we have seen in the story. Momoshiki had access to the Rinnegan and the Byakugan, and when he achieved his full form following the consumption of Kinshiki Otsutsuki, he reached a completely different level of strength.

Momoshiki's individual powers surpass those of Naruto and Sasuke, and that certainly makes him a force to be reckoned with. All things considered, Momoshiki was an absolute monster before his eventual death. That said, he still persists in a spiritual form inside Boruto's Karma and is most likely going to play a very important role later down the line in Boruto.

5 Sasuke Uchiha

Sasuke Uchiha is one of the most important characters in the entirety of the Naruto franchise, and although a regular human, he achieved God-level strength by the end of the story.

Sasuke was given half of Hagoromo Otsutsuki, the Sage of Six Paths' powers, and that made him a demigod. In some ways, using this power, Sasuke was able to awaken the Rinnegan and fight on even footing against the likes of Madara Uchiha and, later down the line, even Kaguya Otsutsuki.

4 Hagoromo Otsutsuki

The Sage of Six Paths, Hagoromo Otsutsuki, is quite easily one of the biggest Gods in the world of Naruto. For all the humans that exist on planet Earth, Hagoromo is the biggest God of them all, and this is because he is the one who started spreading chakra among all living things.

Hagoromo was born as Kaguya's stronger son, and he inherited the power of the Rinnegan from her. He had such strength that he could create the entire moon, and at the same time, Hagoromo also had the ability to create form and breathe life into it, akin to real gods. Hagoromo's overall powers are immense, and the full potential of this individual remains to be seen. He was the Jinchuriki of the Ten-Tails at one point, which made him immensely powerful as a fighter.

3 Kaguya Otsutsuki

If there is one entity known to be even stronger than Hagoromo Otsutsuki, it's his mother, Kaguya Otsutsuki. Kaguya initially came to Earth alongside Isshiki, but ended up becoming the progenitor of chakra on the planet. After leaving Isshiki at death's door, Kaguya went on to consume the chakra fruit of the planet and gained tremendous strength thanks to her Rinnegan awakening.

Kaguya's powers were immense, and she controlled the entirety of the planet with her immense abilities. At the same time, Kaguya birthed Hagoromo and Hamura, which eventually led to her downfall. Kaguya returned in the Fourth Great Ninja War as the main villain and was quite clearly stronger than both Naruto and Sasuke combined, but eventually she was sealed away thanks to the collective effort of Team 7.

2 Isshiki Otsutsuki

Isshiki Otsutsuki was Kaguya's partner and the superior one of the two. Isshiki is known to hold tremendous power, and at his disposal he had the Kokugan, a special Jutsu of the Otsutsuki clan. Isshiki's powers were such that Naruto and Sasuke combined would not even be able to make a dent in his defenses.

He was far stronger than Kaguya and certainly Hagoromo Otsutsuki as well. His overall level of strength is far greater than that of any other character that we have seen in the series. Eventually, however, Baryon Mode Naruto was able to overwhelm him in power. Kawaki then put an end to him, which is why he is a former God of the world, as he no longer exists and has passed away.

1 Naruto Uzumaki

Out of all the former Gods of the Naruto series, Naruto Uzumaki is quite clearly the strongest. Naruto reached the level of Gods when Hagoromo Otsutsuki gave him half of his chakra, allowing him to reach a state similar to a demigod of the Naruto world. This granted him Six Paths Sage Mode and the ability to perform godly miracles, such as restoring lost organs or limbs and restoring a dying life at the same time.

Naruto Uzumaki reached an immense level of strength in the Fourth Great Ninja War, where he fought and even overwhelmed Madara Uchiha and, at some points, even Kaguya Otsutsuki. He reached his pinnacle of strength during the Fourth Great Ninja War, where he used the power of Baryon Mode against Isshiki for the very first time. This unique, godlike form pushed him to such a level that his overall strength eclipsed that of Isshiki by far. Eventually, this led to the death of Kurama, and while Naruto succeeded in defeating Isshiki, the price to pay was huge. Naruto lost his god-level status in this battle and has remained weak ever since.
